When will Maxcast be available?

Maxcast is now available at http://www.maxcast.com.

What is the relationship between Photomax and Maxcast?

Photomax was the original service that lets you preserve, edit and organize your photographic and video memories. Maxcast is a new service that allows you to share your videos online through a high-quality streaming experience. Any videos that are processed through Photomax are automatically made available to share on the Maxcast service. Maxcast also includes tools that let you clip and sequence videos into a custom channel timeline.

Player Features
Playback Control Buttons

Located below the video window are a set of video control buttons, which include the ability to play, pause, fast forward, rewind, and move to the previous or next program. Pause and play are performed by clicking on the same button. The pause/play button changes depending on the current play state of the player. The fast forward and rewind buttons support multiple rates. The rate of moving through the content increases from 2x up to 16x speed by clicking on the buttons multiple times. Simply click on the play button to resume normal playback. The "Go Live" button will re-join the stream of the live broadcast.

Video Window Size

The ability to change the size of the video window is available by clicking on the icon on the far right above the video window. This changes the viewing area to an area that can be adjusted to any size within the browser window. You can adjust the size of the window by dragging the bottom-right corner of the video window (not the browser window itself) to the desired size and letting go. Player controls move above the video window when using the adjustable window. You can return to the standard video window by clicking on the icon representing the standard video window located above the video window

Volume Control

Located to the right of the control buttons is the volume slide bar. You can drag the volume control slide bar to the left or right to decrease or increase the volume level. Sliding the volume control bar completely to the left will mute the sound.

Video Timeline

The program timeline below the playback control buttons and volume controls is a video timeline you can use to “time shift” your viewing of the current program. You can choose between two timelines to see either what is “now showing” or the full “channel schedule.” Slide the timeline indicator in the “now showing” timeline to move forward or back in the current video. Switch to the “channel schedule” to "shuttle" forward or back entire program schedule by dragging the bar located below the timeline to the left or right. Clicking on any program in the “channel schedule” will shift the timeline to the beginning of that program and start playback at that point.

Time Index
A time index displayed immediately above or below the timeline will always display the current playback location.
Share
A button to share a clip or program with a friend is available below the volume control. This button opens a form that allows you to share what you are watching with someone else via email. You can select to share a link to the channel programming or a video or clip. To send a clip, you must also set the start and end of the clip using the controls provided. Simply fill out the form as indicated and click the "send" button. An email will be sent that includes a link to the selected program or clip, and you will receive a confirmation that the message has been sent. Click on the "close" link to return to the program schedule.
Playlist/Program Schedule
A playlist or program schedule appears to the right of the video window. This schedule includes all available programming for the published channel. Clicking on any of the programs listed will move the timeline to the beginning of that program and start playing the program.

Troubleshooting

What do I do if I cannot install or upgrade the video player?
Try to install the player from a standalone installer instead of our web page integrated install. Download the installer for the video player
Why does audio or video playback stop and/or stall?
You can usually recover and begin broadcasting by refreshing your browser or closing your browser and opening it again. These stalls should be rare but they will happen when Internet congestion prevents video delivery for an extended period of time.
Why does audio play without video?
You may be watching the webpage on a dual monitor configuration. If you are, make sure that the video is on your primary monitor. If you are not using a dual monitor and the problem persists, please visit the audio video settings page.

Why does video play without audio?
First ensure your speakers are turned on and are not muted. If the problem persists please visit the audio video settings page.
